The unintended expat blogger behind Meadow Rift Line

Hey, I'm Sofia
Project manager. Parent. An expat based in Madrid, Spain.
A couple of years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn't in our long-term plan. As with many expatriate relocations, it began with a job offer and quickly grew into something far more substantial.
The initial months were demanding— unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Everyday chores seemed more tangled than necessary.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of learning on the fly. Yet over time routines took shape. We found spots that fit us, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt secure.
Why I Built Meadow Rift Line
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation tips or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Spain.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Real-world insights from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site is NOT:
- Not an official tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review platform
- Not just a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
We will continue our time in Spain and keep learning. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have inquiries about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, don't hesitate to contact me.
